Anyone know how to remove crown of thorns starfish?

Before attempting to remove the crown of thorns starfish, it's important to realise that there is a balance in nature, and usually nature addresses the balance itself. But if the crown of thorns are causing alot of damage to the coral in your area then you can remove them from the water, be carefull not to touch them with your skin, as the thorns are very sharp and have a very potent toxin. Don't cut them up underwater as you will increase the numbers of adults. An individual starfish can consume upto 6 square metres of living coral per year, luckily we don't get many crown of thorn starfish when diving around Koh Tao. i got a puncture wound on my finger about 5 years ago and its still dosent have all the feeling back so go carefull if your removing them from the water so that your skin keeps away from the toxin laden spines
